Inspection Requirements
LL152 mandates licensed plumbers in Queens and across NYC to inspect all exposed piping, including gas meters and pipelines in public and tenant spaces. After the initial inspection, subsequent checks are required every four years on the same date. For new buildings, inspections commence from the 10th year post the Certificate of Occupancy date.

Gas systems in NYC buildings fall under LL152 scrutiny, excluding those in R3 occupancy group buildings. Properties with two units or fewer, including group homes and residences with less than 20 occupants, are exempt. Unsure where your property stands? Check your Certificate of Occupancy. Remember, all building owners must retain inspection reports for a decade and produce them upon request by the Department of Buildings (DOB).
